The SDG Motorsports Hellephant Killer Snout is a purpose-built supercharger inlet upgrade engineered to remove the airflow restrictions found in factory and aggressively ported OEM snouts on high-performance Gen 3 HEMI applications. Instead of simply enlarging the original casting, SDG designed the Hellephant Killer from the ground up with a 109mm straight-through inlet that does not taper, giving incoming air a substantially less restrictive path into the supercharger. It was specifically developed around the Nick Williams 108mm throttle body, allowing high-output combinations to take advantage of the larger throttle body’s airflow capability instead of feeding it immediately into another restriction. The design practically eliminates the restrictive short turn found in the factory inlet while incorporating upgraded bearings, a properly staked coupler bearing, and a pinned coupler for improved durability and serviceability. One of the biggest advantages of the Hellephant Killer is that it is not a ported OEM snout. Factory castings can vary, and aggressive porting can create thin walls, internal taper, or areas where there simply is not enough material to safely create the desired airflow path. SDG’s clean-sheet design starts with a larger internal volume, thicker walls, and additional material in critical areas, eliminating the need to weld or heavily modify a factory casting. Basically, SDG stopped asking the factory snout to become something it was never meant to be and built a bigger one instead.

The straight-through inlet is especially valuable on modified supercharged HEMI combinations using larger throttle bodies, smaller supercharger pulleys, higher boost, E85, ported blowers, performance camshafts, and other upgrades that increase airflow demand. SDG reports reduced inlet restriction and has documented 30 to 40+ wheel-horsepower gains when the Hellephant Killer is paired with a 108mm throttle body and properly tuned, although actual results will vary based on the complete engine, supercharger, fuel, pulley, and calibration combination.

Durability was also built into the design. The inlet bearing is properly staked, while the coupler is pinned to the shaft to help prevent coupler spin, loose hardware, shaft damage, and unwanted rotor movement. SDG also maintains OEM-style provisions for sensors, bolts, and brackets, allowing the snout to integrate with the compatible supercharger assembly without requiring the type of custom fabrication often associated with heavily modified inlet components.

The Hellephant Killer is compatible with IHI 2.4L, 2.7L, and 3.0L superchargers used across multiple high-performance Gen 3 HEMI platforms.
