The first section attaches to the differential using the two lower main case bolts and three lower case bolts, reinforcing the differential housing itself. The second section attaches to the rear cross-member and incorporates an OEM differential bushing, creating a third triangulated mounting point for additional support. This design helps control unwanted differential movement while retaining factory-like characteristics.

Construction quality is equally impressive. The DIRS-R is American made and CNC machined from T-6061 billet aluminum, then protected with a black hard-anodized coating. Grade 10 stainless steel hardware, a galvanized bushing bolt, an OEM differential bushing, and P4D’s one-piece tool-less cross-member inserts are incorporated into the system. At just 5.9 pounds, the R Version is 32.5% lighter than the original DIRS while retaining the strength needed for serious performance applications.

For street and drag racers, the biggest advantage is improved control of the rear drivetrain under load. Per4Mance reports customer observations including increased traction, reduced wheel hop, improved rear-end dynamics, and no noticeable increase in noise, vibration, or harshness. That makes the DIRS-R especially attractive for high-horsepower cars that still see regular street use. The brace is also compatible with the factory exhaust and virtually every aftermarket exhaust system, including Borla systems.

Installation is completely bolt-on and requires no cutting, welding, or permanent modification. The design also maintains easy access to the differential fill and drain plugs, so the brace does not need to be removed for routine differential fluid service. Each complete kit includes the brace assembly, required hardware, mounting inserts, Loctite, decal, and printed installation instructions.
